Greetings! My name is Mary Belz. I am blessed to teach here at Our Lady of the Lake where it is like family. I teach 7th grade Reading and ELA and then Religion to both 7th and 8th grade. It’s a gift to teach and learn about things you are passionate about. Ever since I was little I have enjoyed reading and writing. I used to have a “reading tree” I would climb and sit in the branches with my books and read. My childhood best friend and I had a secret writing club too where we would write stories, share them and then offer editing suggestions! When I was in middle school I was part of Power of the Pen and went to a couple competitions. Sharing my love for Jesus and how He has shown me His great love and mercy through my life is also important to me. My one desire is for each student, every person, to know how much God loves them, that we are His beloved children, and that He has plans for our lives – beautiful plans. My favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11.
