My name is Debbie Barberio.  I am looking forward to another great school year at Our Lady of the Lake School.  As you can see from the above subject description I hold several different positions here.  I truly enjoy being part of such a wonderful faculty and working with your children.

Here is a little something about me.  I grew up in the Italian enclave of Little Italy.  I attended Holy Rosary Elementary School, Ursuline Sacred Heart Academy High School, and Ursuline College where I graduated with a BA in Family Studies and a MA in Educational Administration.  I also hold a Pre-Kindergarten and a Principal’s Licensure. As you can see, I have had a lifelong Catholic education. I firmly believe that a Catholic education matters. Here students are exposed to the richness of religious tradition and learn to experience the presence of God in their studies and in their relationships with family, friends, and teachers.

I began my career in education with the Euclid Board of Education where I was the Director of the Child Dev. Center which is now known as the Early Learning Center.  I retired from there in 2013 with a tenure of 30 years. I joined the staff here in 2013 as the Director of the After School program. Well my job has grown to include the wonderful world of Early Childhood Education and Books!  I guess you can say I am no longer retired just blessed!

I  live in Euclid with my husband Frank and I am an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake.  I am currently involved in the Faith Formation programs which include PSR (Parish School of Religion) and CLOW (Children’s Liturgy of the Word).

In my free time I enjoy gardening, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on my favorite basketball team. . the Cleveland Cavaliers!
