• Does my child need to be Catholic to attend Our Lady of the Lake School?

No.  The presence of students from other faiths provides a wonderful diversity to the school. However, the presence of non-Catholic students in the school shall not alter the primacy of Catholic religious formation as an integral component of the educational program in the school.

  • How do I enroll my child at the school?

  • Is there Financial Assistance available?

Yes.  Financial Assistance is available through EdChoice, Cleveland, and Jon Patterson Scholarships or through the Diocese of Cleveland (FACTS).  Please go to the Financial Aid page for more information.

  • What grade levels are taught at the school?

Pre-K through 8th Grade

  • My child will be entering kindergarten, can I arrange a visit?

  • Is there Before or After care?

Supervision is provided in the church hall for children between 7:00 A.M. and 7:40 A.M. as a convenience for those parents whose schedule makes it necessary to drop their children off before 7:40 A.M. when the building officially opens.

Aftercare is available from 2:35 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.  Under the direction of the staff, activities are planned to complement the philosophy and value system of our school.  Please go to the After School Care page for more information.

  • What time does school start and end?

Classes begin at 7:50 A.M. for students of Grade K – 8. School dismisses at 2:35 P.M.

  • What transportation options are available?

Buses are available through Euclid City Schools.  Elementary and Middle school students that live over two miles away from their designated school are eligible for transportation.  Please see Euclid City Schools Transportation for more information.

  • What extracurricular activities are available?

The following activities are among those available to students: Servers and Readers, Student Ambassadors, Student Council, Choir, Field Trips, Instrumental Music, Scouting Programs, Grub Club, Spanish Club

The following sports are sponsored by our Boosters: Cross Country, Track, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, and Cheerleading.

  • Can my child start Preschool mid-year?

Yes, if there is space available.

  • How old does my child need to be to start Preschool/Kindergarten?

Pre-K (preschool) students must be four (4) years old before September 30.

All kindergarten students must be five (5) years old before August 1.

  • Do the children go on field trips?

Yes.  Educational excursions are pre-planned, related to the curriculum and followed by an evaluation if they are to be worthwhile learning experiences. All classes participate in educational excursions.

  • What curriculum is taught at the school?

The basic curriculum for the school (but not necessarily for each grade level) includes the following subjects: Religion, Reading, Language Arts (English, Spelling, Handwriting), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Fine Arts (Art and Music), Health and Safety, Physical Education, Computer Education, and Library.  The total curriculum includes the development of Catholic values and attitudes, as well as the attainment of knowledge and skills necessary for the student’s spiritual, moral, intellectual, social and physical development. Our Lady of the Lake School follows the graded course of study set forth by the Diocese of Cleveland. The Diocesan standards are aligned with the standards set by the State of Ohio.
